Have visible sun damage, uneven skin tone, or redness? Why you should consider BBL PhotoFacial, and how to time your treatments so you also ‘age backwards’

Have visible sun damage, uneven skin tone, or redness? Why you should consider BBL PhotoFacial, and how to time your treatments so you ‘age backwards’

What is BBL? BBL ( aka, Broadband light) is essentially a type of IPL, (aka, Intense Pulse Light). Both BBL and IPL are man-made light used to improve the skin on the face, neck, chest and body. This powerful light is filtered and delivered into the skin to selectively heat chromophores (like specific targets) like freckles or broken blood vessels in the skin. BBL also creates gentle, healing heating in the skin, activating collagen production.

BBL can also be filtered to treat acne, unwanted hair, and to smooth the skin.

What does BBL do? BBL Photofacial treatments are customized to correct a number of skin concerns and for rejuvenation.

BBL is used to treat:

  • Brown spots
  • Freckles
  • Fine lines
  • Deep lines (over time)
  • Redness
  • Broken capillaries
  • Acne
  • Unwanted hair
  • Rosacea symptoms
  • Uneven tone

The differences visible one to two weeks after a treatment usually include a reduction in brown spots and hyperpigmentation, softer, smoother skin, noticeable clarity, and more consistent skin color and tone.

After multiple treatments and over time, results include a continuous reduction in wrinkles, smoothing, reduction in the look of enlarged pores, and possibly even a reduction of laxity/sagging (see Forever Young BBL below).

What will BBL NOT do?
BBL Photofacial will not reduce adipose tissue (fat) under the skin, such as the fat that contributes to heaviness in the skin. Nor will it lift skin. Tighten? Yes! Lift, No. Examples include jowling, fat pads under the chin, or rolls in the neck. However, the skin tightening effect and improvement of the texture seen after continued treatments does do a lot to improve the overall appearance.

If your goal is the correction of browns, reds, and uneven skin tone, you might opt for:
BBL Photofacial Treatment – For Correction
To achieve optimal results, I typically recommend a series of 3-5 corrective BBL Photofacials at 3-4 week intervals. That being said, you should expect to see visible improvement of browns and a reduction in reds after just 1 – 2 treatments.

To maintain your result:
The Maintenance BBL Photofacial Treatment – Improving and Maintaining results.

After you reach the point where you are happy with the rejuvenated state of your complexion, you will want to maintain your results. To maintain results over the long-run, Photofacial BBL should be done two to three times per year.

If you’re after immediate correction of visible sun damage, browns and reds, AND achieving younger-looking skin over time, you may consider…
Ongoing treatment with Forever Young BBL Photofacial

Forever Young BBL is a great way to maintain and improve the quality of skin anywhere on the face and body – with no pain and no downtime.

What is Forever Young BBL?
* When BBL Photofacial also includes treatment performed in very specific patterns, at specific settings, BBL energy turns on the youthful genetic expression of your skin cells. Stanford is studying the BBL for its ability to reprogram the genetic expression of the skin cells – and is the closest thing we have to aging ‘backwards’, if you will. The Forever Young treatment can be performed on its own, but usually also includes the corrective steps of the Photofacial BBL for browns and reds.

Because its a quick and convenient treatment – and also aligned with BOTOX indications, many will have it done when they are in for Botox or other periodic maintenance treatments 3 to 4 times a year. There is no downtime, and because it’s both so gentle and also gratifying, it’s not necessary to take any time off of work.

BBL Videos and Before and After Photo’s:
Here is the interview with the “godfather” of BBL, Dr Patrick Bitter Jr. He’s the laser-celebrity and discerning doctor that created the Forever Young Photofacial Protocol and collabs with Stanford in their research.

He has incredible skin, right?? Its even better than incredible, though… because he is 64. He states that he does a Forever Young BBL on himself every 2 months, which makes me want to do that too =)

When you check out the pics, and notice that the ‘afters’ look staggeringly better… but were also taken 7-12 years after the ‘before’s’!! Pretty compelling, am I right? Excuse me while I go treat myself with the BBL PhotoFacial right now. =)

Me with the ‘Godfather of BBL’ Dr. Patrick Bitter, Jr., who’s putting the aging game to shame!
